From April 20th to 24th, four virtual games were created by 13 students from the Grenoble Ecole de Management MSc in Human Resource Management. The games were aimed at developing innovative tools to help businesses train their teams and staff on intercultural management.
Situation analysis, scenario development, scoring, and staging were just a few of the many skills put into practice by the students. They created two avatars using ITyStudio, a serious game design software developed by the ITycom group. A panel of experts, both academic and professional, tested and voted for their favorite game on Friday, April 24th, 2015.
HR and Serious Game: Four New Virtual Games for Businesses
The students put into practice a number of subjects they studied in their program: situation analysis, scenario development, scoring and staging, among others.
ITyStudio is the first Serious Game design and 3D simulation software that allows end users to easily create multimedia educational content. It is designed for teachers, program designers, content developers, e-learning project managers and scenario developers.
The intercultural Serious Games developed the Grenoble Ecole de Management MSc in Human Resource Management students focused on the key challenges of managing intercultural teams worldwide (intercultural communication and negotiation, cultural differences and perceptions, managing time differences, using virtual communication channels to build teams and projects, etc.).
On April 24th, a panel of experts, both academic and professional, tested and voted for their favorite serious game designed by Grenoble Ecole de Management MSc in Human Resource Management students. ARaymond and ESRF (The European Synchrotron), two of the multinational organizations that participated in the panel, chose “Culture Guru”, a serious game that trains staff to manage virtual meetings with technologies such as Skype. In particular, this game explores the challenges of working with colleagues and teams who have different cultures, native languages and time zones. The serious game will be finalized and prepared for market distribution by the students in collaboration with ITycom.
