Reinventing a marketing class for the epidemic
Marie-France Lefèvre has been leading art/management projects at GEM for the past several years. She also created the 307 association, a residence for traveling artists. Ivan Laurensdirects the "case study factory" at GEM. He is also responsible for several of the school's innovations in education.
Together, the two tested a new format for a marketing class with 40 students in their second year of the Grande Ecole program at GEM. The idea was to present management topics using a piece of artwork as a starting point in order to offer an innovative approach to case studies. The Covid-19 epidemic forced the pair to imagine a novel format for an online version of the class. Over the course of 3 hours, students were able to:
- Interact with Nathalie Junod Ponsard who created the « Deep Water »
- piece of artwork as part of the Nuits Blanches in Paris;
- Learn the techniques and challenges of experiential marketing;
- Discover the point of view offered by Caroline Cuny, a professor at GEM and expert on the neuroscience of emotions and experiential immersions;
- Imagine 4 experiential marketing projects while playing the role of marketing team members for Nutella, Emmaüs, Picture and Banque Postale.
