GEM Puts the Spotlight on Female Entrepreneurs in the Villeneuve District

De-Venir is the title of the travelling photographic exhibition which highlights the female entrepreneurs of the Villeneuve district of Grenoble. Inaugurated on September 30 at GEM, the initiative was born from two women's passion and common interest for female entrepreneurship: Severine Le Loarne, a Researcher at GEM, specialist in female entrepreneurship and Annie Frénot, a Photographer and former Manager of a network of female entrepreneurs. The uniqueness of the exhibition lies in the scientific approach associated with it. Indeed, visitors are invited to answer, via a QR code, a questionnaire that allows their impressions and entrepreneurial intentions to be collected. The novel approach also aims to assess whether the exhibition has changed perceptions.

11 women have agreed to pose and to be part of the exhibition to show who they are, what they do, and where they do it. In order to show their complexity, Annie Frénot chose to create two photos by combining their portrait with a shot that symbolizes their professional activity and their workplace: effectively breaking down stereotypes. Some women have been at the head of their company for more than 10 years and have several employees. Others are in the start-up phase - all in various fields of activity.

Targeting various audiences, the travelling exhibition is designed to circulate in different places. The week of October 26 it will be at Oobee, a coworking space in Meylan. In November it will be located at GEM at the Grenoble campus, and in February 2022, at the Paris campus. In March 2022 it will be at the Patio in La Villeneuve. Other locations are still being finalized.

This exhibition is being supported by the Women & Economic Renewal Chair, co-hosted by Grenoble Ecole de Management and the GEM School for Business For Society Foundation. In total, it brings together 23 affiliated researchers whose mission i to support entrepreneurship policies and networks working for the economic development of regions by and with women.
